APRIL 26, 2007 - LOS ANGELES, CA (NAMC) - Hecla Mining Company (NYSE:HL) is scheduled to hold its quarterly conference call on Wednesday May 2, 2007 at 2pm EST/11am PST  to discuss the Company's first quarter 2007 results. Hecla has arranged for the conference call to be available on their website at www.hecla-mining.com in the investor relations section.

Hecla Mining was recently downgraded from Sector Perform to Sector Underperform at CIBC World Markets but they also adjusted their target price from $8.75 to $9.50.

The Company also recently completed the sale of Hecla’s interest in the Hollister Development Block gold exploration project in Nevada to its former partner in the project, Great Basin Gold, Inc., for a total of $60 million, composed of $45 million in cash and $15 million of Great Basin Gold common stock.

This may be a company to take a second look at as it moves towards the $10 mark.
