Elron Electronics Order Development

(NAMC) - Elron Electronic Industries Ltd. (NASDAQ:ELRN) over the weekend highlighted three of its group companies that have acquired new orders.

Starling Advanced Communications Ltd. ("Starling", TASE:STLG, 68% held jointly by Elron and RDC), a developer and manufacturer of innovative airborne broadband antenna systems, announced that it has received its first order from Jeson Wireless (Shanghai) Communications Co. Ltd. to supply innovative antenna systems for emergency vehicles in China. The Starling antenna systems will be able to transmit and receive video, images, and heavy data files, and communicate via VoIP for onsite emergency information transfer. The order is for approximately NIS 2.5 million (approximately $0.7 million). The antennas will be supplied during the second quarter of 2009. This order will enable Starling to expand its addressable markets to include land connectivity.

Wavion Ltd. ("Wavion", 66% held by Elron), a company transforming the metro Wi-Fi and rural markets with a new category of spatially adaptive base stations, has partnered with Emperion of Lagos, Nigeria, an Internet Service Provider, to create a nationwide Wi-Fi Network in Nigeria. Wavion will deploy Base Stations throughout Nigeria to deliver high-speed Internet access (Wi-Fi) to large and small towns, as well as rural villages, making internet publicly available nationwide.

Safend Ltd. ("Safend", 27% held by Elron), a leading provider of endpoint data leakage prevention (DLP) solutions, and the Vantage Group, a California-based security consultation firm and a Safend reseller, have signed a Master Purchase Agreement with Los Angeles County, selecting Safend's endpoint DLP solutions to power its comprehensive data security initiative. The agreement provides LA County agencies, as well as other California government organizations, the opportunity to leverage the cumulative purchases of numerous agencies to procure Safend's solutions at an attractive price. LA County, the largest county in the United States, includes 38 departments spread over 70 locations with over 90,000 desktops.
