Yahoo Takes a Bite Out of Del.icio.us

LOS ANGELES, CA, (NAMC) - According to reports, Yahoo, Inc (NASDAQ: YHOO) continues to expand their internet empire by acquiring the social networking startup del.icio.us.

del.icio.us enables internet surfers to easily compile and share internet content. It’s as simple as sending a web link via email and they can send along their favorite sites or individual pages to friends, colleagues,  etc.

The  two year old company has well over 300,000 users currently and growing, at the helm of this innovative company is Joshua Schachter.

Yahoo will allow the new addition of their family to handle it’s own website, there has been talk of their new acquisition being tied into Flickr, an acquistion that Yahoo made in March.

It seems to be that Yahoo will continue seeking out innovative internet related companies so that they can add more services to what they offer their users.

So this is positive motion for Yahoo as Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) and Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) battle for their piece of the America Online Pie.
