J.C. Penney Axes COO Catherine WestNEW YORK, NY, (NAMC) - One of America's largest department stores, right up there with Federated Department Stores (NYSE: FD), has terminated their Chief Operating Officer. The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of J. C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE:JCP), Mike Ullman III, made an announcement that the company has terminated Catherine West as executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective immediately. Now Ullman will pulling double duty as he will be assuming all of the responsibilties that were handed over to West back in July 2006.
