J.C. Arens: Pizza Inn Inc Fights To Stay on NasdaqNEW YORK, NY, (NAMC) - Restaurant franchise Pizza Inn, Inc. (NASDAQ:PZZI) late Thursday announced that the company believes that it has regained compliance with the minimum shareholders' equity requirement of $2,500,000 set forth in Nasdaq Marketplace Rule 4310(c)(2)(B). Back on November 9, 2006 the company was issued a Nasdaq staff deficiency letter stating that the company failed to comply with this rule, which requires Nasdaq listed companies to maintain a certain level of shareholder equity. The company believes that their second quarter numbers should play a vital role in them regaining compliance with the listing requirements. Their second quarter ended December 24, 2006 but they also warn that if their Form 10-Q for the second quarter does not appease the Nasdaq then the company may be subject to being delisted. Pizza Inn has over 362 franchised restaurants with sales upward of $150 million. With the continued growth in the restaurant industry and the profit margins of a Pizzeria or Pizza type of Restaurant this company may continue to see nice growth in 2007 going into 2008, but their first hurdle is to maintain their Nasdaq listing. Which they seem to intent on doing. NAMC Newswire Note: The 2007 "Wall Street to Main Street" Contest is underway and is only available to subscribers.
