Museum in Easton teams up with Hannaford to support Outdoor Learning Center

NORTH EASTON, MA (NAMC)- The Children’s Museum in Easton has received a grant from the Hannaford Charitable Foundation to help with the construction of the museum’s Outdoor Learning Center. The $5,000 grant will support the development of themed garden areas in the Outdoor Learning Center.

The Children’s Museum in Easton provides a hands-on experience to facilitate learning through play. The grant has helped the museum develop an environmental learning center that involves authentic experiences with real objectives.  The Outdoor Learning Center will focus on children’s senses through environmental education by building an understanding and respect of the natural world.

“We are happy to have found a partner so interested in the well being of children and families. We are thankful to Hannaford for supporting our efforts to help children and families become life-long learners,” said Elizabeth Starr, Board Member at the Museum.

Hannaford Bros. Co., based in Scarborough, Maine, operates 158 stores under the Hannaford Supermarket and Pharmacy names.  Hannaford stores feature Guiding Stars, America’s first storewide nutrition navigation system.  Hannaford employs more than 26,000 associates. The company is owned by Delhaize Group of Brussels, Belgium.  Additional information can be found at www.hannaford.com.
